What is Pulmonary
Hypertension?
PAH is a debilitating, often
fatal illness affecting people of all ages. It is a rare blood vessel disorder of the
lung in which the pressure in the pulmonary artery rises above normal
levels. In its "pure" form it
is uncommon, but targets mainly young or middle-aged people, predominantly
women. But PAH also occurs more commonly
in association with other conditions such as chronic lung disease, congenital
heart disease, blood clots in the lung blood vessels, scleroderma, HIV
infection or liver disease. All proceeds from this event will go directly to PHA to advance its mission: to find ways to prevent and cure pulmonary arterial and to provide hope for the pulmonary hypertension community through support, education, advocacy and awareness. Please take a moment to learn
